This work, entitled Save the Bees, elucidates the bee as a subject that embodies both danger and endangerment. The bee’s cry for help positions the audience within the power relation. As an artist, I look to draw attention to the everyday happenings in life, like a bee settling onto a juice carton; insignificant until attention is drawn to it. Bio Edwina is a young photographer who grew up in Canberra and is currently studying photography at the Sydney College of the Arts. One of three girls, she often forces her sisters to be subjects. When that fails, she looks to the scenes of everyday life. Edwina’s practice plays with the medium of photography, often manipulating the image by introducing other materials.
