This work was painted in February during an Artist Residency at the Bondi Pavilion. It is the view from the Art Studio, which was situated beside the Pottery Studio in one of the rear walls of the Pavilion. My Residency was cut short due to the Covid 19closure and the Pavilion remains closed for restoration and conservation. I feel privileged to have been the last artist in residence at the Bondi Pavilion . Unfortunately, when the Pavilion reopens, the Art Studio will have been replaced with Toilets & Amenities.

 

Annabel Butler is represented by Stella Downer Fine Art, Sydney. A National Art School Honours graduate, Annabel has been awarded artist residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, Bundanon Studios, NSW and the Vermont StudioCenter, USA. She has won the 9×5 Landscape Prize, the Glebe Open Art Prize(twice), and the Waverley Art Prize for Oil Painting and is a regular finalist in numerous other competitions, including the Portia Geach Memorial Award, the NSWParliament Plein Air Painting Prize and the Calleen, Mosman and Paddington artprizes.
