After receiving over 700 mls of rain within a few days I was finally able to cross our bridge and venture out. The land felt alive, seething with life, the clouds still hung low and a mist of water was ascending from the earth. I wanted to try and capture the feeling as I stood there breathing it in. The power of the natural forces and the challenge of transforming this into a dramatic compostion in paint. Through death, life appears again, the frogs, the insects, the green springing forth after the fires, the cycle begins again. I was born in Creswick, Victoria and studied Fine Art at BCAE. I have been exhibiting my paintings since 1983, having had 21 solo shows and exhibited in numerous group shows. I have always been interested in the challenge of painting my own landscapes from the perspective of imbibing and realizing them from my minds eye. The way the paint plays with the surface, how it speaks to me in the moment is what keeps me fascinated and the act of painting alive. My paintings are held in public and private collections. I paint from my studio in Kangaroo Valley
