Kaye Johnston

This painting includes the escarpment at the edge of Kaye’s view of Wattamolla and the parched river flats in the drought of 2019. Kaye is a contemporary artist from Kangaroo Valley. She studied at Bomaderry TAFE in visual arts over a number of years. Her main interest is in painting, either abstracted landscapes or abstract work exploring psychological and emotional issues. Her paintings capture light and darkness and are full of bright colours and texture. She is well known for her whimsical and humorous works either as constructed sculptures or bug pictures or using Barbie dolls, her Barbitars.
