I draw inspiration from the unique landscape of the Illawarra escarpment that hugs the coastline from Waterfall to the Shoalhaven. I like to work directly and en plein air which enables me to capture the light and essence of a place through paint. I often use an impasto method to shape the nuances of light and form. This painting is of the Wodi Wodi Track on the escarpment above Stanwell Park, named after the original custodians of the land in this area; who I acknowledge give thanks to, for allowing me to live and paint in this special place.
