Winner of the 2018 Kangaroo Valley Art Prize

Congratulations (and a $5,000 cheque) went to Robyn Kinsela for her work in oils, "Rain Setting In". With 114 finalists for the Art Prize, it might seem a difficult decision for the Judges, Therese Kenyon and Natalia Bradshaw. However, Dr Kenyon said selecting the winner was “weirdly easy” and a unanimous choice. “[Rain Setting In] was seen as a little gem,” she said. “It was chosen because of the choice of colour, the paint handling and subject matter.” Highly Commended prizes were awarded to photographic piece, “Byzantium”, by Minuella Chapman and video piece, “Music”, by Jon Frank.
