Guest Curator for 2022 – Megan Monte


Arts in the Valley is delighted to announce that the Guest Curator for Visual Arts in the Valley 2022 will be the award-winning visual arts curator and Inaugural Director of Ngununggula, the National Trust and State Government gallery at Retford Park, NSW, Megan Monte.



Megan is an award-winning contemporary visual arts curator. She holds a BVA (Sydney College of the Arts) and Masters in Curating and Cultural Leadership (UNSW Art & Design). Previously she was director of Cement Fondu, a dynamic contemporary arts space in Sydney, and curator of contemporary art at the Campbelltown Arts Centre directing thought-provoking and community-engaged contemporary art projects. She is the recipient of competitive grants including the Australia Council for the Arts Venice Biennale Emerging Curator’s Program 2015 and Basel Hong Kong Curator’s Program 2017.


Megan will be responsible for the curation of the biennial Visual Arts in the Valley 2022, including selecting and directing the hanging of the finalists for the national Kangaroo Valley Art Prize, the Tony White Memorial Prize for a young emerging artist and the Salon of Local Artists Prize.
