McPhillamy, Colin
Colin McPhillamy trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. His first professional engagement was at the well known but remote Little Theatre on the Isle of Mull in The Hebrides where he performed a one-man version Henry V. He also toured this mini-Shakespearean production in Britain, the USA, and Australia. Other solo work includes An Actor Repairs, and The Treehouse (nominated Best Actor, Edinburgh Festival). He was a member of the Chichester Festival Theatre company, The Old Vic (under Jonathan Miller), and The Royal National Theatre (under Richard Eyre). He has worked extensively regionally, in The West End and on television in the UK; on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and at major theatres including; The Guthrie in Minneapolis, The Mark Taper in Los Angles, and The Alley in Houston, in the USA. He has made festival and touring appearances in Australia, and joined the Sydney Theatre Company for Michael Blakemore’s production of Democracy.
