As part of Visual Arts in the Valley 2020, we are excited to present a Satellite Gallery: King Street Gallery on William @ The Hive. For the first time in Kangaroo Valley – a Gallery featuring the stockroom of a major Sydney contemporary fine art gallery.

King Street Gallery on William: In operation for 38 years, King Street Gallery on William represents many of Australia’s most established artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Euan Macleod and Guy Warren as well as promoting emerging and mid- career artists. King Street Gallery on William also offers expert advice in all areas of purchasing, valuing and collection management.

King Street Gallery was opened in 1982 by Robert Linnegar and Hugo Farmer in Newtown. They held monthly exhibitions for emerging artists and offered a framing and photography service for many years. Randi Linnegar joined as co-director in 1996. She has over 25 years’ experience in the visual arts in the US and Australia. In 2007, the gallery moved to William Street, Sydney, with Randi Linnegar as Director.

Curated by Rex Irwin - internationally acclaimed Art Dealer dealing in contemporary Australian and European art; former director Olsen Irwin Gallery, Sydney. Rex has regularly exhibited the work of Lucian Freud, Frank Auerbach, David Hockney, Pablo Picasso and Henry Moore, as well as nurturing and enhancing the reputations and careers of many Australian artists such as Fred Williams and Cressida Campbell.

@ The Hive: We are delighted, through the cooperation of Rex Irwin and Randi Linnegar, together with Amanda Grace of The Hive, to bring this very special Satellite Gallery to Kangaroo Valley @ The Hive, a new contemporary art space in the heart of Kangaroo Valley.
