Most days in all sorts of weather I walk along the South Coast
beach at Manyana past the rock pools. Depending on the tide if it
is low it is possible to sit in the pools of warm water amongst the
seaweed, crabs and small fish schools. Walking around and over
the rocks there is a world of coloured sea life to discover as the
waves fill the crevices with water.
Colour always plays a huge part in my work, in this painting the
pools at the seaside are my inspiration.Biography:
Wilma moved with her family from Echuca, Victoria to the NSW
South Coast seaside village of Manyana in 1976. It was there that
she was inspired to create hand painted ceramics then painting
naturally followed.
Her passion and application in Contemporary and Abstract art is
continuously growing, studying with tutors within Australia and
overseas in Spain, Italy and the UK.
Wilma has received many awards for her art in NSW, ACT and
Queensland. In 2019 her art was hung in the Wollongong Art
Gallery ‘FLOW’ Exhibition.
In 2020 Wilma received a Shoalhaven Arts Board.Grant to further
her career
