  • Artist Statement & Bio

    This artwork was created during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. During the pandemic Kaye found that she had time on her hands to develop a series of paintings based on the surrounding Wattamolla and Broughton Head escarpments.Kaye is a contemporary artist from Kangaroo Valley. She studied at Bomaderry TAFE in visual arts over a number of years. Her main interest is in painting,either abstracted landscapes or abstract work exploring psychological and emotional issues. Her paintings capture light and darkness and are full of bright colours and texture. She is well known for her whimsical and humorous works either as constructed sculptures or bug pictures or using Barbie dolls, her Barbitars. Her artworks canbe viewed at Kaye has an interest in the politics of the environment, sustainability and feminism.
