Winner 2009 Visual Arts Prize Lyre by Githa Pilbrow

As part of Visual Arts in the Valley 2020, we continue to showcase the art of local Kangaroo Valley artists (of which there are many). This year we are hosting a curated Salon of Local Artists (minimum $1,000 Salon Prize). Local artists are welcome to enter the Kangaroo Valley Art Prize, the Salon or both. Salon artists are also part of and eligible for the exhibition-wide People’s Choice Award ($1,000).

We are delighted to announce that Kangaroo Valley arts donor, Alice Oppen OAM, has generously donated the inaugural Salon Prize.

All finalists in the Salon Prize will be exhibited over the October long-weekend (Friday 2 October through Monday 5 October) in the heritage Kangaroo Valley Hall. The Hall is transformed for this occasion into a pair of adjoining professional art galleries with new wall-to-wall panels and permanent track lighting for the Salon.

All accepted artworks will be for sale at the Exhibition and through our on-line Visual Arts Gallery through the month of October.
