You may submit up to 3 works of art. Maximum width of art work is 1200mm. Images of your work can be uploaded into the submission form (available on this website on 15 August). Image size can be up to 5MB in size. If you have any difficulties uploading your image, or any questions at all, you can email us for assistance at email@example.com
Submission were entered via a submission form, on this website and completion will signify your agreement with all of the Conditions of Entry (below). All entries were notified by email of the progression of their submission, however not all work submitted can be accepted. The exhibition will be curated by Allan Baptist OAM. All decisions of the Curator are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Conditions of Entry
Any two-dimensional visual artwork is eligible for consideration for the Prize and Exhibition, including but not limited to painting in any medium, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art, fabric art, collage, multi-media, etc
Maximum of 3 submissions per artist.
All artworks must be original, by the submitting artist, completed within two years prior to the entry closing date.
Maximum artwork width, including frame, is 1.2 meters and the maximum height, including frame, is 1.8metres.
Entry fee $20 per work, non-refundable.
A JPEG photograph of each artwork (as high resolution as possible up to 5MB, with no extraneous background) must be submitted via the online Submission Form. The JPEG should be labelled: firstname_surname_title.jpeg. All submissions will be acknowledged by email.
Submissions open at 9am, 15 August 2018, and close at 5pm, Wednesday 12 September 2018. The Submission Form with JPEG photo and payment for each artwork must be received no later than 5pm, Wednesday 12 September 2018.
All artworks submitted will be reviewed by the Curator from which approximately 100 artworks will be selected for the Kangaroo Valley Art Prize 2018 Exhibition and entered into the Prize judging.
a. Curation will be based on the submitted JPEG images.
b. Selection will be based on concept, quality of work and originality.
c. All entrants will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.
d. The Curator’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
e. The Kangaroo Valley Art Prize and Highly Commended will be determined by the Curator and two additional Judges, Natalia Ottolenghi Bradshaw and Therese Kenyon, and will be announced at the Opening.
f. The Peoples’ Choice Prize will be voted on by attendees at the four-day Exhibition, and will be announced at noon of the final day of the Exhibition.
ll accepted artworks must be framed, on stretched gallery canvas or other ready for wall hanging, and fitted with two D-rings 50mm from top of the artwork.
No wet work will be accepted.
Name of the artist, title, medium, size (H x W in centimeters), date completed, sale price and, if represented by a commercial gallery, name of the gallery are to be shown clearly on the back of each accepted artwork.
Artists of accepted artworks are responsible for the delivery of their art to the exhibition site:
a. Delivery may be made in person or arranged by courier of your choice (eg, StarTrack who will pick up, Pack-and-Send who will pack and send for you, or another courier) to the Kangaroo Valley Hall, 177 Moss Vale Rd, Kangaroo Valley NSW 2577 on Wednesday 26 September between 12noon and 5pm. The office will not be open or staffed other than during those times. No artwork delivered after 5:00pm Wednesday 26 September will be accepted.
b. Delivery may also be made by shipping via Australia Post, to arrive at the Kangaroo Valley Post Office no later than Wednesday 26 September, addressed to Visual Arts in the Valley, PO Box 6114, Kangaroo Valley NSW 2577. No artwork arriving later than Wednesday 26 September will be accepted.
c. If you experience any difficulties, please contact the Director, Gary Moore, directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Insurance of each artwork whilst at Kangaroo Valley Hall, in transit to and from the Hall, and during installation and removal including shipping or posting is the artist’s responsibility. Arts in the Valley does not have an accidental and malicious damage insurance policy to cover artworks. All such risks remain with the artist at all times, irrespective of whether the artwork is being handled by a member of the exhibition staff. All reasonable care will be taken by Arts in the Valley.
All artwork accepted for the Kangaroo Valley Art Prize & Exhibition is exclusively for sale by Arts in the Valley, and will be offered for sale during the Exhibition and online until the end of October 2018:
a. The artist sets the listed gross sale price.
b. All listed sale prices include our 25% commission. For artworks sold, the commission of 25% (incl our GST) will be deducted from the sale price and 75% returned to the artist.
c. Where an artist is registered for GST (please advise with your entry), 10% GST is taken to be included in your listed sale price. If registered, the artist is responsible for paying their GST on their proceeds to the ATO.
d. For artwork accepted into the Kangaroo Valley Art Prize & Exhibition, from the time we receive your application until one month after the exhibition closes, the artworks are for sale exclusively by Arts in the Valley. If any of your exhibited artwork sells during this period, the commission is payable to Arts in the Valley. This clause operates equally for represented and unrepresented artists.
e. All exhibited artworks will continue to be available exclusively for online sale by Arts in the Valley until 31 October 2018.
f. If any artworks sell online during this extended time, the artist will be contacted so they can make arrangements with the purchaser for delivery. Delivery costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
All artworks not sold during the Exhibition are to be removed by the exhibiting artist or authorised representative from the Kangaroo Valley Hall between 2:30-5:00pm on Monday 1 October or between 9:00-11:30am on Tuesday 2 October. Visual ID will be required for collection of unsold artworks.
a. As artworks may be sold to the end of the Exhibition on 1 October and online at any time up to and after that, please check the online shop to see if your work(s) have sold before departing to pick up your work.
b. Anyone collecting artwork on behalf of the artist must show written authorisation from the artist and proof of their ID for the artwork to be released.
c. If a courier is collecting your artwork, please advise our Manager, Victoria Salkeld, of the name of the authorised courier at email@example.com.
d. Any arrangement outside of these times must be agreed in writing with the Director, Gary Moore, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
e. Visual Arts in the Valley wishes to encourage all artists to enter, including regional, city and more distant artists. We will therefore do whatever we can within reason to assist you in delivery and pickup.
Arts in the Valley will account to the artist for sold artworks by 15 October 2018, and within two weeks of any subsequent online sales.
Arts in the Valley reserves the right to have accepted artwork and any images of artwork in the exhibition reproduced for the exhibition catalogue, publicity, advertising, any electronic media or archival purposes in any manner connected with the exhibition or its sponsors, including any book on Arts in the Valley that is available for sale.
Should the artist wish to use images of accepted artwork for any promotional purposes including websites, opening invitations or photos submitted to publications, please credit the 2018 Kangaroo Valley Art Prize & Exhibition and establish a link to our official website if possible.
The terms of this agreement apply into the future and are not limited to the year of exhibition.
